Founded by the Alvarez family in 2014, Straight Up Farms started with 12 plants and a borrowed tractor. Today we steward 38 acres of living soil in Mendocino County — dry-farmed, sun-powered, and pollinator-friendly.

Our philosophy is simple: healthy soil = healthy plants = clean experience. We brew our own compost, save our own seeds, and hang-dry every harvest for 14 days. It's slower. It's harder. It tastes better.

We feed the soil, not the plant. Compost, worm castings, clover cover crops, mycorrhizae. Soil tested every cycle.

SUN + WATER

Full-season sun with light-dep for 3 harvests. Drip irrigation, rain catchment, moisture probes — 40% less water.

HAND HARVEST

Cut at dawn, hung whole-plant 14-16 days at 60/60. Hand-trimmed by our year-round crew, never machine.

CURE & TEST

Glass-jar cure 30 days, burped daily. Third-party labs for potency, pesticides, mold. QR code on every jar.

Do you spray pesticides? +

Never. We use beneficial insects (ladybugs, lacewings), companion planting and OMRI-listed oils only. Every batch is lab-tested for 66 pesticides and we publish the COA.

What does sun-grown mean? +

It means full-spectrum sunlight instead of warehouse lights. Studies show broader terpenes and lower carbon footprint — about 1/10th the energy of indoor.

Can I visit the farm? +

Yes! Tours every Saturday April–October, 10am & 2pm. $25, includes soil workshop and fresh-pressed juice. Book via the contact form below.

Where can I buy your flower? +

At 40+ licensed retailers across California plus direct delivery in Mendocino, Humboldt and Sonoma. Look for the lime-green sun logo.

Yes for licensed farms. We release 6 stable genetics per year, all pheno-hunted on-site for 3 seasons before release.
